In this tutorial we'll draw a cool looking clock with simulated 3D metallic look and lustre. Here's the final output.

Using Ellipse tool (L) draw a circle. make sure you press shift while creating this so that it's a circle rather than an ellipse.

Press ctrl+F9 to open gradient options. Apply a gradient in radial mode using colors shown below.
Now create another circle and fill none and stroke value 0.5.
Create three more copies with slightly reduced radius each so as to create concentric circles as shown in the shot below.
Draw a side glare highlight as shown below using pen tool.
Goto>effect>blur>gaussian blur and apply settings as shown.

Create a duplicate of this highlight glare and paste. Rotate and place on the other side of the clock as shown.
Create another circle on top of all the circles.
Apply gradient using following settings. Also change transparency mode as shown below.
Create a circle. Using "vertical type area type tool" click on this
circle and type"." (dots / full stop) several times as shown below to
create a pattern of dots.
Place the object below the green gradient circle. For this right click the dots shape. Click Arrange>>Send Backwards.

Create a duplicate of the first circle with silver gradient. Move it
to top of all objects by right click and selecting Arrange>>Bring
to front. Change its transparency mode to Multiply.

Create a shape as shown below using pen tool. Apply gradient using settings shown.
Redue opacity to 13%.
Right click the shape. Select Transform>>Reflect. Select flip
horizontal in the reflect window. Place the shapes as shown below.
Create a circle as shown below.

Goto >> Effect >> distort & transform >> pucker & bloat and apply settings as shown.

Using pen tool create hour, minute and second hands of the clock.

Add four tiny rectangles on 12, 3, 6 and 9.

Take a circle with fill none and stroke 10.

![]()
Draw a circle covering the inner diameter of the clock. Using text tool click on this circle and again type several dots " . ".
Fill white color in the dots.
